With more than 20 years of experience in the field as a certified trainer, Melissa has helped people of different ages, demographics and capabilities get back in shape and feel their best.

Since she took part in physique and figure competitions throughout the Midwest for 10 years, she also has a keen understanding of how strength training can change your body. Though she no longer competes, she says her favorite part of training is seeing the difference she can make in people lives.

“If I see mistakes people are making, it’s overtraining with a too-high-intensity Crossfit-style that takes its toll on the body, or doing too much cardio,” says Melissa.

“If you overstress the body like that, it causes it to increase cortisol levels, which makes you hold onto fat.”

Her well-appointed studio is adjacent to her home and she says clients appreciate, “running in for a workout without any makeup and knowing they won’t be seeing other people.” State-of-the-art free weights and resistance machines push clients to their limit.

“Once we set goals together with an initial consultation, I’m able to provide lots of personal attention to their workout plan and help them stick with it, even if that means coming up with exercises they can do on the side at home,” she says.

“I’m super busy this month with people looking to start fresh with the New Year, but we still have appointment times available.”
