How will you fund your death?

The older you get, the more costly life insurance becomes. It’s best to lock into a policy sooner rather than later.

As of this writing, there are 544,051 sites on GoFundMe.com(1) with the word “funeral” in them. That’s a startling number of people in need of help with expenses.

People died unexpectedly and they may not have been prepared. Now their loved ones are scrambling to find a way to pay for things like medical bills and burial expenses. Nobody thinks they’re going to die, but everyone does.

Life insurance really amounts to pennies on the dollar for protection, and most people are surprised by how affordable it really is.

For example, a policy for a 30-year-old potentially costing $20 per month for $250,000 in coverage is really inexpensive.

But the older you get, the more costly life insurance becomes. It’s best to lock into a policy sooner rather than later.

Life insurance is different than it was years ago. Because more companies are trying to get people insured, many have done away with the full physical exam requirement, depending on the policy. Another change is that the benefits from some policies can be used while you’re alive, for things like chronic, critical or terminal illness.

I know that finding time to review your options can be a challenge, that’s why I invite anyone interested to get the ball rolling with a simple phone call. And because I am a licensed insurance agent with HealthMarkets Insurance Agency—an independent insurance agency—I have access to hundreds of different policies and can tailor one to meet your particular needs.
