Summer is flying by at breakneck speed, darling. If touring the out-of-this-world 26th annual Lake County YMCA Dream House has been topping your to-do list, you only have two weeks left. Doors close at 7 p.m. sharp on Sunday, August 4.

This year’s modern farmhouse has garnered rave reviews from all those who have toured it, with a bevy of “wowza” treatments.

Designed and constructed by ProBuilt Homes, the 3,400-square-foot, two-story home is a reflection of on-trend design innovation with inviting mixes of rustic woods, galvanized steel and vintage glass. It’s valued at over $500,000.

This fabulous collaboration was made possible by a dream team of the hottest designers in the area, who put on their imagination hats and came up with some outside-the-box ideas.

Most of the rooms feature sweeping views overlooking a delightful pond, and sliding doors in several first-floor rooms lead onto a multi-level deck and patio with a stunning outdoor kitchen.

It’s the unexpected touches that will leave you in awe, from ceilings decked out in rich wood, to a video game hideaway behind a faux lighthouse entry in a nautical-themed boy’s bedroom, to the STEAM room with indestructible, experiment-proof counters for budding scientists.

On the terrace level, in the family room, one eye-arresting effect will have you saying, “I’m so doing that in my home.” Designer Carolyn Rigo defined the flat screen television with lit-from-within, floor-to-ceiling shutters that open onto wallpaper that mimics a dreamy skyline. And wire baskets filled with fruit flank a wall adjacent to the smoothie bar.

Taking a tour of the Dream House is a nice way to keep your charitable dollars in the local community, too, as the project raises critical funds to allow the Lake County YMCA to make an impact in the lives of countless folks in our community.

The Lake County YMCA Dream House is located at 36470 Maplegrove Road in the new Maple Valley development of Willoughby Hills. Tours run through Sunday, August 4. There is also a separate drawing for a 2019 Chevy Camaro provided by Northeast Ohio Chevy Dealer and Classic Chevrolet in Mentor. Purchase tickets and bonus buy to win the Dream House (or a $275,000 cash option including all contents unless otherwise indicated) online at YMCADreamHouse.org, at all Lake County YMCA branches or at the Dream House during tour hours.
