Here’s how Bunker Hill Golf Course can make your fundraising efforts a hole in one

During two back-to-back days in May, Bunker Hill Golf Course helped to raise more than $10,000 in support of a woman battling uterine cancer, and another $10,000 for Copley-Fairlawn Youth Football and Cheer. Displaying the ceremonial giant checks that marked the occasions, General Manager Chad Gibson proudly emphasizes that wildly successful fundraisers are par for the course at Bunker Hill.
That’s why Chad can proudly invite families, schools, churches and organizations of all types to “let our team lead your team to success.”
“Fundraisers are a key offering at Bunker Hill, and a particular passion of mine,” he says. “In my 31 years in the golf business, I’ve helped people to raise more than $3 million.”
Holding your fundraiser at Bunker Hill couldn’t be simpler, Chad promises.
“We handle everything,” he says. “We design your event fliers, develop your sponsorship levels, build you a Facebook event page and a web page for registration, and coach your team on how to raise as much money as possible. Then we do all the cooking, serving and cleanup during the event. All you have to do is enjoy the day and receive the check.”
Fundraisers can be scheduled seven days a week and—thanks to Bunker Hill’s indoor, full-swing golf simulators—all year ‘round.
“Our most recent indoor fundraiser had 36 golfers and 100 dinner-only guests, and raised more than $9,000 for a local family,” Chadly recalls.
Bunker Hill hosts fundraisers for 11 churches and the Marine Corps, he says. Once a year, in partnership with Salem Communications, owners of 95.5 FM The Fish, the course holds a free day of golf and food for more than 100 pastors throughout Greater Cleveland.
One of Bunker Hill’s regular special events is the annual Mimi & Chadly American Cancer Society Golf Outing Fundraiser. This year’s outing—the 14th annual—will be held on Sunday, July 7, starting at 11:30 a.m. The first 13 outings netted more than $100,000 for the American Cancer Society and its Hope Lodge free housing center for out-of-town cancer patients who are being treated at Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.
The event includes 18 holes with a cart, plus a pre-game lunch and a post-game barbecue dinner featuring ribs, chicken and assorted sausages, along with baked beans—all for a discounted price of $85 per golfer if payment is made by Monday, June 24. Dinner-only registration also is available for $30 before June 24.
Sponsorships are available for the outing. Family sponsorships cost $35 and a variety of business sponsorship levels range between $100 and $1,000.
Chad adds that Bunker Hill also is an ideal venue for special events, like graduation and birthday parties, wedding rehearsals and showers and celebrations of life.
Many events begin at the picturesque gazebo, then move to the clubhouse and lower level patio, or the Bunker’s Grill restaurant, which has an outdoor deck. Both the patio and deck overlook the golf course. Above the restaurant, the temperature-controlled Simulator Room is another fabulous party option.
“Our most popular party setting is our gorgeous outdoor pavilion,” Chad suggests. “It can accommodate 120 people under cover and another 100 in the surrounding grassy area. It features a stage area for live music, as well as a bonfire pit.”
