Always on the front line of innovation, the Apex Dermatology office in Hudson has introduced the CO2RE laser for skin rejuvenation.

“This powerhouse laser can erase and soften years of sun damage, deep wrinkles, brown spots, acne scarring—even add elasticity to sagging skin—that other lasers are not powerful enough to treat,” says Dr. Nely Aldrich, who is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. “The results are real and dramatic.”

“And usually it is one and done,” she adds. “With most of the other lasers, you need a series of treatments over time.”

A noninvasive treatment, the carbon dioxide laser delivers light in a waffle pattern that precisely removes the outer layers of damaged skin to reveal the underlying skin, which is smoother and younger looking.

“There is about a week of downtime after the procedure and your skin will be slightly pink up to a month after the skin resurfacing,” says Dr. Aldrich. “After the treatment, your skin will gradually look softer, smoother and with less unwanted pigmentation. While you will notice a difference immediately, over time the wrinkles, scarring and age spots will diminish and you will see full results in two to four months.”

“I have been treating a lot of men with this new laser since it is effective in healing rhinophyma,” she adds. “A subtype of rosacea, this inflammatory skin disease, which mainly affects middle-aged men, causes the nose to become enlarged and bulbous. Using the laser, I can remove this overgrowth of excess tissue so the nose won’t look red, swollen and bumpy.

“This is the most powerful, intense laser available to treat your skin that can be done in an office setting without having to go under the knife. The laser machine settings allow me to do everything from a light peel to deep acne scar removal.”

The CO2RE laser is just the latest technology in Apex’s Hudson office, as the physicians and aestheticians have a slew of other lasers, each with its own treatment benefits.

“Each time we invest in new technology, we are supporting our talented providers so that they can leverage treatments they are passionate about and help their patients get the best results,” says Ruth Barnum, Apex director of marketing.

As part of its mission to empower patients through healthy skin, Apex Dermatology offers complimentary laser scar treatments to veterans who were wounded during service.

“We created the Purple Heart Project as a way to show our appreciation and help our veterans,” says Apex founder Dr. Jorge Garcia-Zuazaga, who served with distinction as a U.S. Marines flight surgeon prior to relocating to Cleveland. “It is part of our commitment to partnering with patients to deliver exceptional and compassionate care.”
