Hemorrhoid surgery isn’t cutting edge

Who needs hemorrhoid surgery? The answer is almost nobody—no matter how bad things are on the back end.

Hemorrhoids can be divided into four different grades. Grade one hemorrhoids stay up inside and don’t come out. Grade two hemorrhoids come out a bit when you’re having a bowel movement but go back up inside on their own. The grade three kind protrude when you move your bowels and need to be pushed back in where they’ll stay. And grade four? These are the kind that hang around back there no matter what’s going on—always on display, refusing to play hide and seek.

A lot of people with grade four hemorrhoids avoid seeking treatment because they’re convinced they’ll need surgery. But I regularly treat advanced degrees of hemorrhoids with excellent results—and without the cost, scar tissue, muscle damage, lifelong loss of control or other complications from surgery.

I offer two, non-surgical methods to treat hemorrhoids. One reduces the blood flow that feeds the hemorrhoids, improving inflammation and causing them to shrink. The other is better suited to removing larger hemorrhoids. Both take just a few seconds to do. Since they are performed in an area with no nerve endings, they can be administered right in the comfort of my office without anesthesia.
