When Health and Life Coach Heather Kuchar founded Healthy Attractions in Fairlawn last year, she had no idea that one of her most inspirational clients would end up being her mother.

“On the morning of December 12, 2018, my mom was struck by a car while walking her dog,” she says. “She was in pretty bad shape, suffering a traumatic brain injury. I put to use all the skills I’ve honed over the years. Even while we were waiting to go into surgery, she and I did some deep breathing exercises to keep her vital signs stable.”

After two months of recuperation in the hospital, her mom is doing much better.

“Watching her comeback gave me new appreciation for the body’s ability to heal itself,” she says.

Why a Health Coach Makes all the Difference
Heather’s role as a health coach is to improve her clients’ overall health potential, overhauling their lives from a nutritional, fitness and motivational level.

“The goal is for them to gain the skills to achieve their optimum wellness and use them for the rest of their lives,” she says.

She offers three wellness programs: a 90-Day Program with 12 one-on-one coaching sessions for a total journey to wellness, a six-week Self-Discovery Program, and a Two-Week Detox to reset your nutritional health.

“My clients come to me stuck in a rut,” she says. “They haven’t been able to overcome set habits that are slowing them down and keeping them from being healthy.”

Heather notes that during her initial consultation, she works with clients to pinpoint the food and lifestyle habits that need to change. Then she offers the customized system, support and accountability to help them make a total body transformation.

New Detox Program
“The liver is your body’s main organ for detoxification,” says Heather. “It’s working for you 24/7 to cleanse the blood and fight off the constant assault of toxins and chemicals, both from the environment and a poor diet or alcohol.”

When one of her clients was diagnosed with high liver enzymes, she decided to do some research and create a 10-Day Liver Detox Program, which is now available.

Included in the program are three one-on-one support sessions with Heather, and all the supplementation and recipes needed for the 10 days.

“When your liver isn’t doing its job properly, the fallout can be anything from skin irritations to foggy brain, inflammation, weight gain and allergy-like systems,” she says.

Just Say “Ohhmm”
Clients working with Heather in one of the wellness programs can enjoy her yoga classes within the beautifully appointed studio at Healthy Attractions. And many local yoga practitioners come there just for the amazing classes.

“I teach a Yoga Burn Metabolic, which is a great workout to boost your metabolism and torch calories,” she says. “And I also teach Amrit yoga, a restorative and meditative class that encourages mindfulness in everyday life.”

Group classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m., and Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Call to reserve your spot. Heather conducts private classes, too.

As a teacher who’s always studying and looking for new things to bring to her practice, Heather is excited to introduce a yoga inversion stand to facilitate headstands.

“In addition to a traditional inversion, there are so many moves in this position to strengthen the abs,” she says.
