Glenwood Square Senior Apartments’ all-inclusive rate plan makes it an easy choice for those 55 and over

Home, insists Megan Thacker, isn’t just a place where you live.

“Home is a place that provides ample opportunities for you to enjoy life to the fullest,” elaborates Megan, district manager of Clover Senior Apartments, which offers affordable luxury living for residents who are 55 and older.

“Activities and social interaction are important to most of our residents, many of whom still drive and live very full lives,” she says. “In most of our buildings, the residents themselves become key volunteers and start their own activities, whether it’s Bunco night, cards, corn hole or parties. Glenwood Square’s spacious community room—the social center of the facility—hosts daily activities from breakfasts to bingo to karaoke. Individual apartments also are spacious and well appointed, Megan emphasizes.

“Our two-bedroom units are our most popular,” she says. “They have 825 square feet of space that is utilized very well in an open floor concept. The kitchens are absolutely gorgeous, with a lot of counter space for cooking and baking—or just pulling up a bar stool. The kitchens have large pantries and stainless steel appliances.”

Appliances include full-sized stacked washers and dryers.

The open, roomy design is ideal for residents who like to bring their dinettes and china cabinets from their house, Megan says.

“That’s one reason why our apartments are designed to optimize living area,” she says.

The bathrooms are equipped with walk-in showers and they all are accessible, with safety bars and 911-connected emergency pull strings.

Glenwood Square rates start at only $1,035 and include all utilities—heat, electricity, water, trash collection and even cable television.

“One reason why our rent is so affordable is because we don’t include three meals a day in our lease—an expense that can cost an additional $2,000 to $3,000 per month at some other senior communities,” Megan says. “Here you can eat where and when you want to and it won’t cost you anywhere near that amount.”

Many Glenwood Square residents, she adds, enjoy using local delivery services for an eclectic variety of hot meals.

“A lot of our residents, for example, love getting meals delivered from the Giant Eagle Market District,” Megan says.
