Sometimes we need a little motivation to urge us out of winter and ease us into spring. A walk through Bremec Garden Center and the Garden Boutique in Concord might be just the incentive you need to spring forward on both the inside and outside of your home.

Bremec Garden Centers’ owner, Bob Bremec, opened the original garden center in Chesterland over 30 years ago, added the Cleveland Heights location in 2009 and Concord in 2015. All Bremec locations offer everything from plants, shrubs and trees to the designing and building of complete outdoor living areas for your home. Landscape projects, patios and outdoor kitchens all begin at Bremec.

But inside the Concord location, you’ll find a hidden gem, the Garden Boutique.

The Garden Boutique is a shop full of unique gift items, frames, lamps, jewelry and clothing. And that is just the beginning.

“This is the third year for the boutique,” says Denise Bremec, Bob’s wife and manager of the Garden Boutique. “We have everything you ‘re looking for—from garden items like herb pots, fountains and wind chimes—to everything you didn’t know you were looking for—like jewelry, accessories, glassware and things you won’t find anyplace else. We also offer classes during which garden center professionals help people plant their own flower pots for the summer, or make living wreaths and decor for the holidays. Between the garden center and the shop, there’s always something going on.”

Right now, the Garden Boutique is introducing the Lizzy James line of handmade wrap bracelets that transition into necklaces. Another popular gift are the Maison Berger Paris home fragrance products.

“These fragrances smell amazing. Just light for 20 minutes and any odors from cooking, tobacco or pets are cleansed away. And, the lamps are decorative.”

Another popular line is Myra Bags made out of upcycled materials like canvas tarps and tents. The eco-friendly handbags, totes and duffels are truly one of a kind.

“People are always surprised when they come in,” says Denise. “We have so many fun and interesting things that make perfect gifts for someone, or for yourself.”

Just walk through the Garden Boutique and you’ll see the talent Denise has for finding special lines to carry in the store.

The boutique’s customers trust they can always find something special here. And don’t forget Hogan, the cat, the shop’s mascot who wandered in from the farm next door and found his second home.

“We have fun in here,” says Denise. “There’s always something special happening, from launching new product lines to wine nights in the summer and at holiday time. I’m always inspired by people’s talents and I love sharing them with my customers.”

Right now, Bremec Garden Centers are preparing for spring and summer, just like you are. All locations are bursting with flowers, plants and everything you need for your home. Bremec offers garden consultations and will even plant custom containers to create the perfect look for your outdoor space.
