When you walk into the newly expanded Skin Care Solutions Elite MediSpa—with crystal chandeliers, elegantly upholstered couches, and bold, large-scale artwork—you get the sense that you are going to be pampered.
Though it may feel spa-like, the focus here is more on getting results than just being taken care of. As a medical spa, the physicians and aestheticians provide more advanced skincare treatments and medical-grade products that you can’t get at a spa.
Opened in 2016 on the second floor above VCS Salon & Spa, just a couple blocks south of the Medina Square, this is SCS Elite MediSpa’s third location. And to accommodate the growing business, it tripled its space this winter. There are now five treatment rooms for facials, injectables and body sculpting—each one beautifully furnished in different shades of a soothing gray palette.
“We want to create a comfortable luxurious vibe, rather than a clinical medical feel,” says Brittany Ballachino, a licensed medical aesthetician. “It’s fresh, it’s bright, and it is on trend.”
Meet the New Aestheticians
Working alongside Dr. Dana Bonezzi, Dr. Debra Fast and Dr. Kathleen Fearon, Brittany consults with each patient to discuss treatment plans and to provide options.
A licensed medical aesthetician with 15 years of experience, she worked at the Cleveland Clinic providing medical aesthetics in pre-op, post-op and wound care.
“The doctors and aestheticians at our medispa work together to come up with the best approach to give our clients their desired results,” says Brittany, who graduated from Medina High School and Brown Aveda Institute, and is now working in her hometown. “I customize treatments for each client to get the best results.”
At SCS Elite MediSpa’s location in Green, new medical aesthetician Sofie Burns also customizes skincare treatments for clients.
Sofie moved back to Ohio last year after working at the world-renowned Hilton Head Health wellness center in South Carolina.
“I’m happy to be back home and excited to share my expertise with clients here,” says Sofie, who also worked as a health coach. “I love making clients feel more beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. When I consult with a client, I listen to what they want and look for affordable treatment options.”
Non-Invasive Rejuvenation
With two new full-time medical aestheticians, SCS Elite MediSpa can offer more physician-directed cosmetic services, such as advanced facials, chemical peels and exfoliating treatments like microdermabrasion and dermaplaning.
“Dermaplaning is one of our most popular treatments,” comments Brittany. “This non-invasive treatment removes the top layer of dead skin and vellus hair (peach fuzz), providing a smoother surface for better product penetration and makeup application, and it also minimizes pore size.”
The medispa also offers medical-grade facials that are more corrective. These facials penetrate into the lower levels of the skin to actually change its cellular structure and get real results.
“Even though our facials are more advanced, they are priced the same as those in most salons,” notes Sofie.
For clients looking for more anti-aging treatments, the doctors are master injectors. More than just getting rid of the “elevens” between your eyes and “parentheses” around your mouth, there is an art to using injectables/fillers. At SCS Elite MediSpa, the medical professionals combine female artistry and advanced techniques for the best results.
One of the most popular services is the Liquid Facelift. “The non-invasive Liquid Facelift can take 10 years off,” Dr. Bonezzi says confidently. “I combine fillers and Botox for natural facial rejuvenation. I put fillers along the cheekbone to lift and inject down in the jowl area. Unlike an overly tight look like you see with some surgical facelifts, this 30-minute procedure results in a very natural appearance.”
In addition to facial rejuvenation, SCS Elite MediSpa offers body sculpting. In a dedicated CoolSculpting treatment room, the aestheticians freeze the fat in targeted areas, including the inner and outer thigh, flanks, back, abdomen, upper arms, knees and chin.
“Body sculpting is an art,” says Brittany. “I use the modalities of the different applicators and freeze the fat cells to contour the body. Each treatment is customized in a creative way so we really are sculpting the body.”

To complement its skincare treatments, the medispa sells physician-grade skin care products. Featuring two lines—Image Skincare and Obagi—these physician-dispensed, prescription-strength skin care products help transform the skin at the cellular level for younger—and healthier—looking skin.
