Dr. Rachel Beckett has joined the team at Valley Smile and Implant Studio

Meet Dr. Rachel Beckett
Joining Dr. Paul Mikhli’s practice this summer, Dr. Rachel Beckett has quite an impressive resume. For undergrad, she picked up a magna cum laude designation from The Ohio State University, and then for dental school graduated from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in 2018.
“For my year of residency, I went back to Columbus, to the OSU Wexner Medical Center,” says Dr. Rachel.
The reason she wanted to become a dentist is because of all the dental work she underwent as a child.
“Throughout my care, I had 18 teeth removed and braces. I was amazed at how much the science of dentistry can fix seemingly any issue,” she says.
Dr. Rachel calls Ohio City home and enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and pet chinchilla, Stanley. This darling doc also has a sporty side, and you might find her snowboarding or playing sand volleyball and soccer in her spare time, as well as dining at local hot spots and hanging out at the West Side Market. A fun fact about Dr. Beckett is she has a twin brother who is an optometrist and lives in Cleveland.
In the short time she’s been back in Cleveland, seeing patients at Valley Smile, Dr. Rachel says she’s enjoyed getting to know them and making their overall experience the most positive it can be. She works with each patient to educate them about their unique dental issues and come up with a treatment plan together.
Dental implants are a specialty of Dr. Rachel’s as are Invisalign and traditional braces. In fact, she will be sporting her own set of Invisalign aligners in the coming months to perfect a few issues with her smile, evening out the line of her front teeth and slightly pushing out the teeth on her upper middle jaw to fill out the spaces in her smile.
“I figured if helping patients achieve perfect smiles was part of my job, I should have one, too,” she says, laughing.
More and more teens and adults have been opting for Invisalign to correct glitches in their smiles and bites, she says. The process is pretty simple. She or Dr. Mikhli use 3-D computer imaging technology to create clear, removable aligners, which are worn for two weeks and replaced with another set of aligners in a series. Total treatment time varies from case to case, but usually takes nine to 15 months.

The warm and welcoming environment at Valley Smile helps put patients at ease as soon as they walk through the door, with earthy colors, loads of plants, a tiled semi-circular front desk with granite counter and a gourmet coffee station.
