Danbury Senior Living is home

It has been said that home is where the heart is. For more than 100 residents, that happens to be Danbury Senior Living in Broadview Heights.
“Home is not a place. It’s not something you can touch. Home is a feeling, and Danbury is home,” says Cheryl McCallum, sales and marketing director at Danbury Senior Living. “Our residents truly love living here because of the caring staff, chef-prepared meals and so many social activities.”
Just ask resident Bob Williams. Bob moved in last fall and has been staying active by participating in social activities.
“There is always something to do and the people here are so sincere,” he says.
“You just look at the calendar and can find something that you want to do each day. We just had an ice cream social and live music on the patio on a beautiful Friday evening.”
Another resident, Carol Wagner, who has been at Danbury since it opened in January 2016, keeps busy with volunteer work. Serving as the “unofficial, official librarian,” she organizes the shelves full of donated books and helps residents pick out good reads.
“Many residents love to read, and we have lots of books to choose from,” she says.
Located on the second floor in a cozy nook with bookshelves and comfortable living room furniture, the library affords residents a place to get out and read, or they can bring books back to their apartments.
In addition to the library, there is a restaurant, pub, bistro, barber and beauty shop, game room and a theater centered around the nicely appointed apartments, offering residents everything they need on site. Plus there are 24-hour healthcare services and a memory care neighborhood.
“Just like at home, Danbury residents can have friends and family dine with them and sleep over,” says Cheryl, noting residents may also have dogs and cats. “Pets are part of the family, so they are welcome here.”
