“We’re responsive to the trend of our customers wishing to bring indoor rooms, with all of the creature comforts such as fireplaces and televisions, to the great outdoors,” says Chris Peters, who founded the business in 1992.
“Over the past years, we’ve noticed people are done spending their money at restaurants or bars. They’d rather entertain in their own backyard.”
Other trends this spring, in addition to fireplaces? Chris reports water features are having a moment, whether it’s a trickling fountain or pond.

The Finishing Touch
According to General Manager Josh Riley, they’ve been kicking around the idea of offering outdoor furniture for several years, but couldn’t find a line that met their sky-high standards. Until now.
“We’re partnering with Amish-made furniture from Backyard Furnishings to offer a line that is remarkably durable and stylish,” says Josh. “Made from 97 percent recycled materials and stainless steel, you can leave it outside year-round. You don’t even have to bother covering it.”
The sophisticated styles come in 42 colors that can be mixed and matched, including natural wood shades, and range from chairs, rockers and gliders, to swings, accent tables and dining tables.
“If you want to create a pub feeling on your patio, complete with an outdoor bar, we offer pub tables and swivel pub chairs, as well as a shelved server table and bar stools,” says Chris.
“And you can further customize the weather-proof cushions, which come in a variety of designer fabrics, including daring stripes and bold geometric prints.”
The gentlemen are thrilled to showcase the entire line in front of their Medina headquarters on Wooster Pike.
Party Central, Just Put a Roof Over It
For the past two years, Peters has offered Amish-crafted Weaver barns, sheds and pavilions. Since they provide a charming gathering space in any yard, the demand for pavilions has grown exponentially.
Josh reports they are introducing two new pavilions, the Dublin and the Bradford, which join their best-selling Timber Ridge model.
“People love entertaining under a pavilion, whether it’s rustic pine timbers, or more elegant white-pillared vinyl,” he says.
Timing is Everything
“Our phones have been ringing off the hook with customers trying to get on the schedule,” says Josh, who mentions that compared to this time last year, they have doubled the equipment and manpower to keep up with demand.
“We suggest people don’t wait,” he says. “So many issues are time-sensitive. For instance, we like to put in new lawns in mid-May, so the seed germination takes place before the heat of summer.”
For installing new lawns, he explains they are one of the few operations in the area to offer Hydro-seeding.
“Using a truck, we spray dirt with a seed and fertilizer mix that’s dyed green,” he says. “This method provides a lusher lawn in less time, about two weeks.”
