For every bride, tops on the list of priorities for the big day is to make sure she has a good hair day. So, when Kaitlyn Kebe got married last fall, she turned to Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa, the place she went before all her big moments in life, including her First Communion and prom. The only problem was that she was getting married in Columbus—a two-hour drive from the Middleburg Heights salon.

Always known for its superb customer service, Cory’s literally went the extra mile, as the salon owner and two stylists drove to the Columbus hotel to get the bride and her family and friends ready for the big day.

“We booked a large room at the hotel and set it up with three styling stations to do more than a dozen updos,” says Denise Canda, the mother of the bride who has been a client at Cory’s for 30-plus years.

“The night before the wedding, after our rehearsal dinner, we came back and all had manicures. The next morning, the stylists started to do hair and makeup at 8 a.m.”

“It was a relaxing morning and by noon everyone was ready to get dressed and walk out the door,” says Denise. “It was such an intimate, joyful time and it set the tone for the entire day.”

A month before the wedding, Kaitlyn came to the salon for a trial hairstyle and makeup session.

“The first updo was a little too puffy and high up for my style,” says Kaitlyn. “I wanted something a little more natural looking, so Cory made it lower and softer. It felt more like me, just a dressed-up version. So that was the look we replicated on the wedding day.”

“The bride wanted a more relaxed updo, so I created a low bun and soft tendrils framing the face and neck,” explains salon owner Corinne Calabro, who styled the bride’s and mother’s hair. To enhance the style, six temporary tape-in hair extensions were added to the bride’s look for extra volume, which she could take out the next day.

“I was a little hesitant to put in hair extensions,” recalls Kaitlyn, “but I trusted Cory’s recommendation and it turned out perfect. You could see the bun from every angle.”

Cory's Adds a Touch of Glam
Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa offers custom bridal packages so brides can choose exactly what they want and offer friends and family the convenience of getting ready together.

“We do hair and makeup for weddings all year long,” says Corinne. “Not just on Saturdays, but also more and more on Fridays and Sundays.”

“One of our most requested services is airbrush makeup,” she says. “We airbrush makeup for a glowing foundation and then add eye, cheek and lip color for a flawless look.”

Cory’s makeup artist Riley Tidwell artfully airbrushes the foundation to create the perfect canvas for adding eye, lip and cheek color—from soft to bold.

A pretty style for this flower girl, a waterfall braid is perfect for any age. The hair is braided across the back and alternate pieces are let loose and curled. Stylist Moni Pavel used Moroccan Oil Smoothing Lotion and Big Sexy Hair Get Layered Volumizing Hairspray to create this look.

An updo with added volume on top, side-swept bangs and twisted curls swept up with a bedazzled hair clip off to the side boosted the glam factor. Stylist Sabrina Devera used Aquage Volumizing Fix Hairspray for a smooth finish and added shine.

For a more classic, formal look, this smooth, sleek upstyle with a bit of a French weave never goes out of style. Stylist Moni Pavel used Big Sexy Hair Get Layered to texturize the hair and then used Matrix Style Fixer for a stronger hold.

A twisted updo with volume on top and loose hair wisps to frame the hair complemented this bride, who had mid-length hair with a lot of volume. Stylist Moni Pavel designed a low bun accentuated with a hair accessory.

Stylist Stacey Sipos created a loose braid and low bun that shows off the dimension in the hair color with highlights and under color.

In addition to salon and spa services, Cory’s sells tiaras and hair accessories in its retail boutique.

“We sell a lot of hair accessories for less than you’ll find elsewhere, and we can pair them better with your hairstyle,” says Corinne. “Let us help make your wedding day beautiful.”
