The newly opened AcuLaser Treatment and Wellness Centre in Brecksville offers an array of minimally invasive, health-promoting relaxation services, including laser acupuncture for smoking cessation, stress reduction, weight loss, sugar detox and an immunity boost; Cryoslimming and cryo facials; therapeutic massage; reiki; and alternative physical therapy.

Led by founder Luciana McCartney, the opening is a dream that’s been years in the making. She had outgrown her previous location in Broadview Heights, which was about half the size of the new one.

“The Brecksville community is a wonderful fit for what we want to accomplish,” she says. “Neighbors here are knowledgeable about the state of their health and are looking for ways to be their best.”

Tucked away in a secluded red brick building surrounded by blooming trees, the Centre features five treatment rooms and a welcoming lobby.

“As soon as I saw this space, I knew it was right for my vision,” she says. A decidedly Zen vibe is set by pale gray wood flooring, posh white lacquered furniture, brushed gold lighting and soothing shades of barely-there blues and serene grays.

“Finally, our setting matches our mission—a retreat-like oasis offering clients safe and effective paths to look and feel their best that are alternatives to pharmaceutical or surgical intervention,” she says.

Laser Therapy and Cryoslimming
“The goal of holistic low-level laser acupuncture is to stimulate pressure points in the body to produce a desired result,” says Luciana, who performs the services along with fellow laser tech Beth Murray.

AcuLaser has had success in the areas of smoking cessation (the brain produces natural opiates to overcome cravings and addictions), weight loss and sugar detox (curbing appetite and raising metabolism), and stress relief.

“Clients lay down on a spa bed during the treatment,” she says. “They leave saying they feel rejuvenated. Our newest treatment is called Immune Booster Laser Acupuncture. It resets your body to naturally bolster its own immune system.”

Last year, as the perfect complement to her laser healing, Luciana introduced Cryoslimming.

“This non-invasive service eliminates fat cells and cellulite, smooths and tightens, lifts and tones,” she says. “After just one treatment, our clients are seeing a noticeable difference. And after several treatments, inches are taken off.”

During Cryoslimming, gel is applied via a hand-held instrument to the targeted areas, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, back and arms. Within a 30-minute session, the device produces temperature shock to the body, alternating very cold cryotherapy with very warm thermal therapy.

The same technology is tapped into with a cryo facial, which firms the skin, reduces pore size, and smooths fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating and restoring collagen and elastin.

Meet the New Team
To offer a complete spectrum of services, Luciana sought out a massotherapist, a reiki practitioner and a pain management therapist.

“These ladies are a fabulous fit with our wellness services,” she says. “They are passionate, kind, and believe in their power to help people.”

Reiki practitioner Naomi Wright promotes healing and relaxation with this energy therapy. With the client lying fully clothed on a spa table, she lays hands over or on specific areas of the body.

Massotherapist Lindsay Barringer assesses her clients’ issues and addresses them through targeted therapeutic massage to provide healing benefits.

And Diane Salettel is a pain rehabilitation coach who works with a functional neuroscience protocol called ZHealth. She creates change in a client’s well-being and athletic performance using a laser.
