On Monday, June 1, Vivify Wellness at Avenues will reopen its doors to offer acupuncture and more. According to Vivify’s nationally renowned acupuncturist Jennifer Saferstein, the practice has become mainstream, with more than three million Americans giving it a try.

Conditions that acupuncture treats effectively, as mentioned in a report by the World Health Organization, range from chronic back pain and migraines to arthritis, fibromyalgia, insomnia, digestive issues, weight loss, anxiety, stress and hot flashes, just to name a few. Some treatments also help with facial rejuvenation, fostering smoother, brighter skin.

Jennifer uses tiny needles at specific points in the body to stimulate minute nerve systems, clear energy blockages and restore the body to a balanced state. She says most people feel improvement after one session. Others take a few sessions.

Although the practice is nearly painless, she does offer needle-free treatment, too, with metal disks in 24K and sterling silver, to redirect the energy pathways.

When the wellness center reopens, in keeping with the CDC guidelines, safety precautions will be taken, from masking and disinfecting to limiting the number of clients.

While Vivify was on Covid hiatus, the staff introduced virtual offerings, including one-on-one acupressure sessions. Jennifer says they were so well-received, Vivify will probably continue them going forward. Check out the website for acupressure and other workshops, exploring essential oils and stress-busting nutrition tips.

In addition to acupuncture in June, Vivify plans to reopen infrared sauna treatments for detoxification and improved immunity, and Himalayan salt room sessions for stress and respiratory health.
