In Marie Kondo’s seminal book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, she suggests we surround ourselves only with things that spark joy. And if there ever was a time to inject a little more happiness into our lives, it would be now.

At Great Lakes Boutique in Mentor, you’ll find a veritable bonfire of must-have jewelry lines and to-die-for handbags to spark your joy.

Just Hitting the GLB Cases
“One of our most popular new items is a custom-designed line that is modeled after Tiffany’s Diamonds by the Yard,” says Angel Mastandrea. “Diamonds, amethysts or sapphires are bezel-set on bracelets and necklaces for a clean, modern look on simple strands of white gold, yellow gold or rose gold. These pieces pair well with others, and you can dress them up or down.”

Their ever-changing estate department has also been in demand this summer. Angel reports people are always on the lookout for vintage cocktail rings and diamond pendants.

New Leather Bag Line Coming Soon
Angel is constantly scouring fashion sites for the NBT (next big thing). She recently decided to bring in a line of high-end leather handbags from Bed Stu, coming next month.

“This hand-crafted line from LA is known for its authentic craftsmanship,” she says. “The bags are made from natural leathers and aging processes with natural imperfections. No two are alike. I think our clientele will fall in love with these.”

She says they still plan to carry their popular handbag lines Katie Loxton of London, with its kicky, colorful clutches; and Papaya, for those who favor artsy, hand-foiled looks.

Fall Jewelry Trendcast
Angel’s finger on the pulse-point predicts two of the hottest looks for fall and winter:

• Stacking and layering – “People are combining different types of bracelets (metals with clay beads and leather) and necklaces (mixing complementary crystal and stone pendants and chains).”

• Earrings are stronger, longer – “These are the statement pieces right now, impactful and dropping nearly to the shoulders.”

Calling all Top Sellers
Simbi mission bracelets are hugely popular for all ages and stages of ladies. These colorful clay beads sport inspirational charms. Angel says the most popular one lately has been “Delete 2020.” A portion of each sale of these one-of-a-kind pieces provides clean water to people in Haiti. (Gotta love that.)

And ladies who like to customize their own jewelry are flocking to the Waxing Poetic line, which is handmade in Bali.

For inspirational and spiritual pieces, My Saint, My Hero bracelets, necklaces and rings are faith-filled keepsakes that range from adjustable woven styles with crosses and charms, to Birthday Blessing Bracelets featuring Swarovski cut crystals in stunning birthstones. They are beautifully presented on an inspirational card the recipient will cherish.

Other popular lines include Redbalifrog, Luca + Danni and Palace of Amber.
