At Bunker Hill Golf Course, the game never has to end

The leaves are falling, the temperature is dropping, and the sun is disappearing earlier each day. But that doesn’t mean the lights need to go out on your golf game, insists Chad Gibson, general manager of Bunker Hill Golf Course, in Medina.

“The fall and winter weather may pose a challenge outside, but our six best-in-the-business full-swing indoor golf simulators can put you at the tees of Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill or 67 other championship courses,” Gibson promises.

The simulated courses, Chad says, are “as real as it gets.” Each course has the same features—right down to the slopes and angles—as the actual venue. Special cameras and infrared technology track your ball speed, trajectory and spin rate, your club face angle and swing path to duplicate your exact swing.

League play on Bunker Hill’s simulators starts in November and carries through the end of March, and there are plenty of options to fit your schedule, such as:

• Monday and Tuesday league, 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. tee-offs. The cost is $16 for nine holes and $10 for games, like low score, closest to the pin and skins.
• Monday and Thursday league, 1 p.m. tee-off. The cost is $32 for 18 holes and $8 for games.
• Wednesday league, 8:30 a.m. Individual play—handicap with low net and skins—costs $5.
• Wednesday, four-person scramble, tee-off at 1:00 p.m., costs $10.
• Wednesday Greg Jones Golf Academy League, 6:00 p.m. tee-off. Structured, nine-hole league with handicaps and points; individual play. One-time entry fee of $25 for weekly play, December through March.
• Thursday Ladies League, individual play with handicaps, nine holes. Tee-off at 6:00 p.m. One-time $25 entry fee.
• Friday Scotch Doubles League, every other week. “In this league we play for fun only,” Chad says. “Most couples enjoy a nice dinner during the game.”

Along with compelling league play, the Bunker Hill Sim Room also is an ideal venue for parties, fundraisers, golf outings and other gatherings.

“Organizations that had to cancel their summer fundraisers due to Covid-19 may recover some funding by scheduling a fall or winter event at Bunker Hill,” Chad offers. “An indoor outing gives golfers a chance to get out of the house and play some of the world’s most desirable courses. We can accommodate 12 teams of three, plus we could have an additional 70 people join for dinner in our new event center.”

The Sim Room also can accommodate a fabulous Christmas party or other family or business gathering of up to 80 people, Chad says.

“You don’t even have to be a golfing family to enjoy it,” he adds.

That’s because along with world class courses, the simulators also feature myriad fun arcade-type golf games for people of all ages. Between visits to the punch bowl, you can challenge Uncle Otis to see who can break the most windows out of New York’s skyscrapers. Or who can drill the guy in the golf cart.

“One of the best things about a party or event at Bunker Hill is that nobody has to worry about cooking and cleaning up,” Chad says. “We can serve anything from simple appetizers to full-course meals.”
