Aging into Medicare

Trying to understand insurance coverage can be a lot like a visit to the dentist.
Painful.
One of the biggest things I do is help clients navigate the complex waters of the insurance industry, particularly Medicare, and take the pain out of the process.
Open enrollment for Medicare is over, but I meet with people all year long to help them understand their coverage options. I can show you the moving parts and pieces of your Medicare plan and how to manage some of the costs.
People just turning 65 are often overwhelmed by the idea of Medicare and don’t know where to begin. New 65s have a seven-month enrollment period, three months before their birth month, their birth month, and then three months after their birth month.
Most people need to apply for Medicare through Social Security. If you (or your spouse) worked 40 quarters in your lifetime, you’ll get Medicare.
The first step toward getting Medicare is to apply four to five months before you turn 65. Then, you can schedule an appointment with me to start reviewing your options.
Medicare coverage is standard. There is a part A and part B. Secondary options are different.
