According to EverGreen Turf Solutions, fertilizer is not a one-and-done

“Maintaining your lawn is like exercising,” says Correy Petz, owner of EverGreen Turf Solutions.

“It takes time to get into great shape via exercise—at least six months to a year. And to stay fit you have to eat right. The same goes for your lawn. Only by regularly feeding it a proper diet can you expect to see change. That diet consists of fertilizer applied at least five to six times a season.”

And if you miss a step in the process, here’s what you can expect:

• Spring – crabgrass
• Summer – weeds
• Fall – chickweed

“Your lawn is a living thing. Like humans and animals, it needs to eat properly, and regularly, every 30-45 days,” Correy explains. “When you miss an application, that’s when problems like weeds and other invasives like clover and crabgrass happen.”

Getting on a regular fertilization program, he adds, helps the roots of your grass to grow deep.

“Think of it as a meal delivery service for your lawn,” he says. “There is a science and timing behind the proper application of fertilizer. You’ve got to use the right stuff at the right time.”

Correy explains that while having EverGreen apply your fertilizer five times a season is typically sufficient, that sixth application can really produce marked results. But you’ve got to commit to it.

“Treat your lawn like a pro athlete,” he smiles. “The effort will absolutely show.”

So how can you be sure you’re getting the most for your money?

“We price appropriately, taking the size of your lawn and your location into consideration,” he says.

“And we use the right amount and right type of product. We know people price shop, but it’s important to know that price isn’t the only factor to consider. If you aren’t getting a quality application, you’re just throwing your money away. We don’t cut corners just to be cheaper.”

Correy offers a free estimate in person or over the phone, and now is the time to give him a call so you can get your first fertilizer application in before the weeds start their annual assault.

“Fertilization isn’t rocket science,” he says. “But in this business, I’ve found that our friendly, knowledgeable, personable service really stands out. Our guys come in logoed shirts and lettered trucks, just like the box store-type companies do. But that’s where the similarities end.”

“My family and I live in Medina. I grew up in Strongsville and my wife, Sarah, grew up in Brunswick. We’re very involved in the community. My customers aren’t just customers. They’re my friends and neighbors,” Correy shares.

“I’m usually here in the office until 6 or 7 at night. I’m genuinely invested in the process and my team and I care very much about the outcome.”

High Pressure? Never
EverGreen doesn’t dilute its product in favor of profits, or try to sell you on stuff you don’t need.

“High pressure? Never,” Correy stresses. “That’s not how we operate. We charge a fair price for a quality job. Period. We’re not always the most expensive, and we’re not always the cheapest. We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all pricing structure and we do use the highest quality fertilizer available. It shows in our customers’ lawns.”

“When you’re considering where to spend your money on fertilizer, it’s important to compare apples to apples,” Correy suggests.

“Do they charge extra for things that we offer standard? Do they use a top-quality product? Is their service tailored to the customer? Are they competitive on price? Could you be paying less?”

The way to find out, is by giving EverGreen a call—before it’s time for your first application.
