Lou was a stray and was picked up in Lorain County wandering on busy Route 58 during a rain storm. We found out about Lou and stepped in to cover his medical costs for neutering and updating his shots. What a magnificent dog he has turned out to be. Lou is a healthy 56-pound brindle boy who loves everyone and has stunning markings as well as a sunny disposition.
We had to teach Lou how to play with toys. His favorite is a big ball with another ball that rolls inside called a Teaser Ball which will go with him to his new forever home. We found a foster for Lou and started obedience training right away. Lou is treadmill trained and is working on advanced obedience skills. He knows all the basics a polite dog should: sit, come, down, and stay.
Lou walks well on a leash without pulling. He is currently being trained off-leash, which requires a very smart dog. Lou loves kids and people of all ages. He’s house and crate trained. Lou will require an active family with a fenced in yard. He is about two years old and is past all his puppy behaviors. He has been in rescue since December 2011.
If you’re interested in adopting Lou, or if you’d like to make a donation, please call 216-533-5666. The mission of Westlake’s Tracking Lucky Dogs Rescue is to rescue dogs that have been abandoned or abused and deemed un-adoptable by shelters.
Once rehabilitated, the dogs are placed in permanent loving homes where they become happy, balanced family members. A home should be forever. Like them at www.facebook.com/TrackingLuckyDogsRescue.
