There are several options available to the student who seeks to earn college credit while still in high school. Advantages to doing this are saving time and cutting costs while getting a significant head start on a college career. Students taking the full amount of college credits while still in high school could conceivably earn a four-year degree in two or three years.
And the college courses can also provide early exposure to potential career paths.
Overall, we are pleased with the increased number of college-ready students taking advantage of these programs. In 2014, more than 100 of our students earned over 1,000 ...

By John Luck, Lucky Shoes
The trend toward athletic shoes that provide cushiony comfort and superior support is showing no sign of waning. In fact, our customers told us they wanted more—more styles and more brands to pick from. So we did what chain stores don’t typically do, we listened and then we responded.
That’s why we’ve brought in a lot of new brands, including Brooks running shoes and Hoka athletic shoes for both women and men. And you won’t find these trendy brands at the box stores.
This is the number one brand sold at specialty running stores. The difference is that at Lucky Shoes you’ll be professio ...
By Roni Bell, HealthMarkets Insurance Agency
Health insurance is indispensable. But how you think about health insurance likely has a lot to do with where you are in your life. If you’re younger, you may not look at it as being “indispensable.” It’s low on your list of priorities. If you’re a bit older, health insurance may take up a larger chunk of your thoughts. You understand that health complications can rob you of quality of life.
No matter where you are on the health insurance spectrum—and no matter your age—it’s important to understand that the unexpected can and does happen.
Are you covered? If you have a ...

Depending on where you live, you will surely be seeing some less familiar vegetables this time of year.
Asparagus and radishes will start to appear more vibrant in color and lower in price. Combine the two together with avocado for a really tasty bruschetta.
Treehuggers has also always loved dandelion greens. Often you will find them in my special dandelion soup. We also serve them as a wilted salad with grilled fruit such as apples, peaches or pears tossed in cinnamon and honey, then we top them with our famous three-ingredient maple vinaigrette, fresh ginger and some crunchy hazel nuts or candied pecans. Dandeli ...

Did you know there is a mineral so important to your health that, according to a study published in the Journal of Intensive Care Medicine, a deficiency can make you twice as likely to die as people who are not deficient?
Now here’s the scary part.
According to the National Academy of Sciences, nearly 50 percent of Americans are deficient in it and don’t even know it. What is this mineral? I’m talking about magnesium.
Magnesium plays a huge role in your health. It activates over 350 different processes and is found in every tissue, but higher concentrations exist in your bones, muscles and ...

By Dr. Sonja Stiller, Advanced Vein Care
It is human nature to avoid bringing unwanted attention to ourselves, and that includes taking steps to hide our perceived imperfections—from coloring our grey hair to using cover-up to reduce the dark circles under our eyes.
The same is true for patients with varicose vein symptoms who often use makeup, artificial tanning beds or self-tanners to help hide the telltale red or blue-ish indications of a venous health issue.
In addition to the dangerous long-term effects of chemical make-ups and indoor tanning, hiding your varicose veins can lead to delayed treatment, which can cause worsening symptoms, like swelling, red ...

By Dr. David Gutman, Advanced Hemorrhoid Specialists
People tend to put a lot of faith in what their doctor tells them. After all, he or she is the medical expert—the person who should understand the best treatment options for what ails you.
But when it comes to treating hemorrhoids, many primary care physicians are not up-to-date on the latest non-surgical methods. So instead of helping hemorrhoid sufferers find relief, they sometimes exacerbate patient concerns by suggesting that surgery is the only method for treating hemorrhoids. This simply isn’t true.
I’ve performed more than 25,000 non-surgical hemorrhoid treatment sessions, righ ...
