By Jay Minkin, Minkin's Music
The formula for a perfect evening is when you can park your car, grab a bite to eat and have some entertainment afterward—all in one area. This writer has taken advantage of living close to I-77, which allows me to frequent many of Cleveland’s cultural neighborhoods for food and entertainment.
Over the last few months, however, I have found the corner of East Market and High Streets is growing into the apex of Akron’s art and cultural district. For many readers, heading to downtown Akron might be a new area destination.
With the Akron Art Museum as an anchor, free parking is located in the ga ...

By Dr. Stefanie Christian, Timeless Laser and Skin Care
The Madonna Eye Lift was originally developed by Dr. Bruce Katz, who, at the time, felt that singer Madonna had the perfect eyes—no passive creases, no crêpiness and pretty brows that were the perfect height.
At Timeless Laser & Skin Care, I perform this same procedure using SmartSkin fractional laser resurfacing, the most advanced, customizable, micro-ablative skin renewal laser available.
With the Madonna Laser Eye Lift, a marked improvement can be seen in fine lines around the eyes, with loose, crêpy skin on the lids, and with mild lid hooding. The treatment can even lighten certain da ...

By Dr. David Gutman, Advanced Hemorrhoid Specialists
People who suffer from hemorrhoids typically fall into two categories: those who bleed, and those who don’t. Bleeding from the rectum is one of the more frightening symptoms of hemorrhoids, but it is a very real one.
The bleeders then fall into two subcategories: those who freak out about the blood, and those who ignore it by modifying their activities and wearing dark-colored pants.
It might seem scary, but it’s pretty common for hemorrhoid sufferers to bleed. On the other hand, bleeding isn’t normal and could be a sign that something more serious is going on down in your nether region.

By Jay Minkin, Minkin's Music
Chris Stapleton changed the face of country music when he won three CMA Awards for Best New Artist, Male Vocalist, and Album of the Year for his solo debut release Traveler. After the awards, Stapleton’s album topped the Billboard 200 charts with 153,000 album sales, leaving corporate radio stations trying to figure out how to install Stapleton into the cookie cutter clutter of what country radio programing has become.
For those not familiar with Stapleton, he was lead singer/guitarist for the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Steeldrivers. Their self-titled 2008 release contained great songs like, “Drinkin’ Dark Whiskey,” & ...

How to keep kids active during the wi...

By Dr. Sonja Stiller, Center for Advanced Vein Care
Studies have shown that many of our lifelong personal values and habits are already established by the age of 10 to 12, while other research has demonstrated a strong correlation between good health and an active lifestyle. This is why it’s so important to teach kids to be active in their early years by keeping them moving. A healthy, active child is more likely to become a healthy, active adult.
The season of giving is upon us and many of today’s hottest gifts involve electronic devices that actually discourage physical activity—including smart phones, tablets, TVs and video games. Instead, consider ...
