After 30 years of working in the food and beverage industry, Chris Fazio knows which foods Clevelanders crave and the type of dining experience they desire. That’s why his moderate-to-upscale Italian-style eatery, Fazio’s Restaurant, is quickly developing a loyal following.
“We’re trying to bring a Tremont feel to the West Side, but we don’t have the exorbitant overhead that Tremont restaurant owners have, so we can provide that style of food at more reasonable prices,” says Chris, who opened the 125-seat restaurant on September 11, 2013.

Q: To whom did you give your first haircut? How did it turn out?
Samantha:  I cut my little brother’s hair just before I started high school and, honestly, it was a little lopsided. Luckily he allowed me to cut his hair again. The second haircut was much better.
Q: What is your specialty?

Q: How do you make each guest’s experience special?
Samantha: I want everyone who sits in my chair to feel pretty when she walks out of the salon. That’s why I sit do ...

By Michael Brady
With the run-up in the price of the stock market over the past year—more than 24% as of late December—many people are thinking about getting back into the market.
Since the market low in March 2009 it is up about 150%. But it might be getting late in the game at this point. Instead, why don’t investors have a plan to achieve their goals? A goal without a plan is just a dream. And an emotional feeling that you are missing out on returns without a strategy can lead to disaster.
A plan should include a long-term balance between stocks, bonds, and cash investments. The balance should be set according to each investor’s to ...

By Jay Minkin
We’re keeping it local this month with the beautiful three-part harmony blend from new local Cuyahoga Valley bluegrass favorite Honeybucket.
Guitarist Adam Reifsnyder struck up a conversation with his bartender, Brendan O’Malley, who happened to play mandolin, and discovered the common thread of being musicians. They formed a duet and began co-writing songs along with performing in area coffee houses. They needed the low end of a bass player that could sing really well, so Abie Klein-Stefanchick, who played with Brendan back in high school, was added to create the sweet, three-part harmonies.
Their very first rehearsal was Halloween night ...

Diet and exercise are great ways to boost your health, but so is pampering. Using 212 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 40, Drs. Dacher Keltner and Matthew Hertenstein—who examined touch and the physical and emotional impacts it has on the body during a Berkeley University of California study—demonstrated that humans convey emotions and transfer positive and negative energy through touch.
The science behind touch relates to the body’s receptors, which are sensitive to pressure, warmth, and other triggers. When these receptors are stimulated, the body releases oxytocin, a “feel good” chemical. That&rs ...

Q: I didn’t do anything strenuous over the holidays, but I seem to have developed a very painful hemorrhoid. How could this have happened? —Francis B., Hinckley
A: You stepped away from your typical routine for a few weeks and now find yourself entertaining the holiday guests that just won’t leave: hemorrhoids.
During the celebrations that occur over the winter months, many of us find ourselves overeating, or eating foods that our bodies just aren’t accustomed to. Indulging in those holiday treats may have caused bowel irregularities, diarrhea or constipation, and opened the door to hemorr ...
